Griha Pravesh Ceremony

This is a Griha Pravesh Ceremony. In Hindu culture it is a ritual that honours and blesses a new home. This blessing and cleansing of the energy of this new home is performed by a Hindu priest. First the priest sprinkles holly water to purify de air before the ceremony. After the puja ritual a haven, a fire ritual are performed to cleanse the space of negative energy.Mantras are chanted during the ceremony and the family offers fruit, flowers, milk, spices to the gods.Lastly, there is a prayer to the Goddess Lakshmi who will ensure prosperity, purity and serenity for anyone who lives in the house.The family wears traditional Indian dressing with colourful fabrics.
